Dutch football player Ruud van Nistelrooy doesn’t attend Gala events very often, but the brand new forward for the Hamburg football club HSV made an exception for the opening night of the Best of Musical – Gala 2010 in Hamburg, where he took the time to pose for a few moments on the red carpet for the photographers. Henk Kivits, CEO of Stage Entertainment, has known Mr van Nistelrooy since their PSV Eindhoven days, which prompted him to invite his old friend to the Hamburg performance in the Color Line Arena. At the end of the show, even Mr van Nistelrooy - not known as a man of many words– seemed impressed, saying ‘That was cool!’
There was a strong Dutch presence on stage as well, with three of the eight Best of Musical soloists coming from the Netherlands: Pia Douwes, Ana Milva Gomes and Willemijn Verkaik. Other prominent international guests were Vitali Klischko and his brother Wladimir, with his new girlfriend Hayden Panettiere.
