Biography Mr. Ewald Kist

Mr. Ewald Kist (1944) studeerde Nederlands Recht aan de Rijksuniversiteit Leiden. Hij bekleedde tussen 1969 en 1977 diverse functies binnen Nationale-Nederlanden en was van 1977 tot 1986 lid van de Directie Nationale-Nederlanden Schade, Nationale-Nederlanden Leven en Nationale-Nederlanden Buitenland. Na een periode van drie jaar als President Nationale-Nederlanden US Corporation, Washington DC, USA werd hij lid en vervolgens voorzitter van de Hoofddirectie Nederland. In 1993 trad hij toe tot de Raad van Bestuur ING Groep als lid, vice voorzitter en van 2000 tot zijn pensionering in 2004 als voorzitter.

Mr Kist is momenteel Lid Raad van Commissarissen Philips Electronics, Lid Raad van Commissarissen DSM, Lid Raad van Commissarissen De Nederlandse Bank, Lid Raad van Commissarissen Moody’s Investor Services (USA), Lid Bestuur Carnegie – Stichting ( Vredespaleis), Voorzitter Raad van Toezicht Van Gogh Museum, Lid Raad van Toezicht Medisch Centrum Haaglanden, Lid Bestuur Johan Cruyff Foundation en Lid Bestuur VandenEnde Foundation.

Ewald Kist (1944) studierte Recht an der Universität Leiden. Er bekleidete verschiedene Positionen bei der Nationale-Nederlanden Versicherungsgesellschaft zwischen 1969 und 1977 und war von 1977 bis 1986 Mitglied des Vorstands von Nationale-Nederlanden Damages, Nationale-Nederlanden Life und Nationale-Nederlanden International. Nach drei Jahren als Präsident der Nationale-Nederlanden US Gesellschaft in Washington, D.C., (USA), wurde er zum Mitglied und später zum Vorsitzenden des niederländischen Gesamtvorstands ernannt. 1993 trat er in den Vorstand der ING Group ein, wo er zunächst stellvertretender Vorsitzender des Vorstands wurde. Von 2000 bis zu seiner Pensionierung 2004 war er Vorsitzender des Vorstands.
Ewald Kist gehört derzeit als Mitglied den Aufsichtsräten folgender Gesellschaften an: Philips Electronics, DSM, De Nederlandsche Bank und Moody’s Investor Services (USA). Er ist ferner Mitglied des Vorstands der Carnegie Stiftung (Peace Palace), Vorsitzender des Aufsichtsrats des Van Gogh Museums, Mitglied des Aufsichtsrats des Medisch Centrum Haaglanden, Mitglied des Vorstands der Johan Cruyff Stiftung und Mitglied des Vorstands der VandenEnde Stiftung.

Mr. Ewald Kist (1944) Studied Dutch Law at Leiden University. He held various positions at the Nationale-Nederlanden insurance company between 1969 and 1977, and was a Board member of Nationale-Nederlanden Damages, Nationale-Nederlanden Life and Nationale-Nederlanden International between 1977 and 1986. After a three-year period as president of Nationale-Nederlanden US Corporation in Washington DC (USA), he joined and subsequently became chairman of the main board in the Netherlands. In 1993 he joined the Executive Board of ING Group. He subsequently became its vice chairman and, from 2000 until his retirement in 2004, served as chairman.
Mr. Kist is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of Philips Electronics, the Supervisory Board of DSM, the Supervisory Board of De Nederlandsche Bank, the Supervisory Board of Moody’s Investor Services (USA), the board of the Carnegie Foundation (Peace Palace), chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Van Gogh Museum, member of the Supervisory Board of Medisch Centrum (Medical Center) Haaglanden, member of the Executive Board of the Johan Cruyff Foundation and member of the Executive Board of the VandenEnde Foundation.
